Highfields Park Champions

Join Nottingham Green Guardians at Highfields Park, one of the city’s historic gems, known for its beautiful landscapes, heritage planting, and striking architecture. This multi award-winning park offers a rich variety of habitats and features, and with ongoing care, continues to thrive as a much-loved green space.

What to expect: Volunteers will join the Champions Group, led by our Volunteer Ranger, David, to carry out a range of practical conservation and maintenance tasks. Activities may include habitat boundary maintenance, bench restoration, maintaining the Japanese Garden, managing the heritage rhododendron border, tree and shrub maintenance, bulb planting, tree planting, and more. All activities are guided and suitable for all abilities.

We provide: Tools, spare PPE, and hot refreshments. Please wear sturdy footwear and dress for the weather.

Time: 10am (sessions last approximately 2–3 hours)
Meet at: The boathouse (except the 2nd Thursday of the month, when the meeting point is the cascade)
Parking: Available on the east side of the park, just off University Boulevard near Lakeside Arts and café
