Green Guardians – Woodthorpe Grange Park

Woodthorpe Grange Park is a characterful green space gifted to the city by businessman and philanthropist Jesse Boot in 1922. Home to formal gardens, community orchards, conservation areas, recreational space, and adventurous play areas, the park is also a hub for all things gardening, with the Woodthorpe plant shop and nursery located on site.

Join Nottingham Green Guardians at Woodthorpe Grange Park and help care for this much-loved space, contributing to a park enjoyed by people, wildlife, and gardeners alike.

What to expect: volunteers will carry out a range of practical maintenance tasks including rose and shrub pruning, weeding, mulching beds, removing self-set trees, scrub management, hazel coppicing, planting trees, and planting or refreshing beds . All activities are guided and suitable for all abilities.

We provide: tools, spare PPE, and hot refreshments. Please wear sturdy footwear and weather-appropriate clothing. If you have your own gloves, please bring them along.

Time: 10am (sessions last approximately 2–3 hours)
Meet at: Outside the Grange front door, W3W ///clubs.degree.glow
Parking: Ample parking is available on site, either by The Grange or just inside the park entrance

You are welcome to turn up on the day; however, we encourage you to register as a Green Guardian on our website and sign up for the event in advance so our Ranger knows to expect you.
