Green Guardians – Sandy Banks LNR

Help care for Sandy Banks Local Nature Reserve (LNR), nestled within the Bestwood Estate. This reserve has nutrient-poor soils, ideal for supporting a variety of shrubs and grassland species, making it an important haven for wildlife.

What to expect: volunteers will help maintain boundaries and footpaths, cut back shrubs, retain habitat features, monitor species, and more. All tasks are guided, suitable for beginners, and give a real hands-on experience of managing a local nature reserve.

We provide: PPE, tools, and light refreshments. Please wear sturdy footwear, dress for the weather, and bring a drink to stay hydrated.
Time: 10am (sessions last approximately 2–3 hours)
Meet at: Entrance where Edwards Lane meets Beckhampton Road
Parking: On-street parking available. The site is also well-served by local bus routes.
