Green Guardians – Bulwell Hall Park

Bulwell Hall Park is a much-loved green space in the north of the city, popular for its wide range of recreational opportunities including football, angling, and golf, as well as offering plenty of space for children to explore and play. The park has a colourful history, having once been owned by a local brewer and later serving as a Prisoner of War camp during the Second World War.
The landscape includes traditional parkland, ponds, woodlands, streams, and meadow, with a designated nature reserve at its heart, meaning there is always important conservation work to be done.
Join our Park Ranger to help maintain this varied and valuable park, supporting both wildlife and the local community.
What to expect: volunteers will carry out a range of practical maintenance and conservation tasks including tree maintenance, invasive species control, litter picking, site maintenance, tree planting, scrub management, rewilding opportunities, and installing nest boxes. All activities are guided and suitable for all abilities.
We provide: tools, spare PPE, and hot refreshments. Please wear sturdy footwear and weather-appropriate clothing.
Time: 10am (sessions last approximately 2–3 hours)
Meet at: Parking area to the left of the play area, accessed from Norwich Gardens
W3W: ///oldest.stream.pushes
Parking: On-site parking is available. Please use the car park to the left of the play area when entering from Norwich Gardens. Very good bus links serve this area.
You’re welcome to just turn up on the day, but we recommend registering in advance as a Nottingham Green Guardian via the Nottingham Together volunteering portal so you can confirm your attendance, and stay informed about future opportunities.
